This past weekend was a big one for a particular member of our academy, Ryan Paulsen, who delivered an outstanding performance and came home with a double Gold!
Here is what Ryan had to say:
“ Competing is a great way to keep myself honest, and put what I’ve learned to a real test. It motivates me to keep my body weight in check, and extends my sense of community beyond our home gym.”
“ For my son Jude, it teaches him to be gracious in victory and humble in defeat, and by competing alongside him, I hope to lead by example.”
LEADING BY EXAMPLE
Anyone who trains with Ryan knows the effort he puts in. Seeing his dedication translate into competition success is something the whole gym can celebrate.
Throughout the day, Ryan stayed composed under pressure and executed his game plan with precision. He demonstrated a strong positional control, smart decision-making and the ability to capitalise when the opportunity arose.
By the end of the tournament, Ryan had secured Gold in:
Male Gi/White/Master 3
And
Male Absolute Gi/White/Master 3/ Open Weight
A PROUD MOMENT FOR THE TEAM
Moments like this are special because they represent more than just medals. They reflect the hours of training, the support of teammates and the culture we build together as a gym.
Ryan’s performance is something the whole team is proud of. He represented the academy with class; his success is well deserved.
Huge congratulations to Ryan on an incredible weekend, and a well-earned double gold!
